RICK AND MORTY SEASON 2 EPISODE 3 REVIEW FULL
Full credit for this episode’s success must be paid to the episode guest stars, which include Danny Trejo as The Jaguar and Susan Sarandon (of all people) as the therapist. Conversely, the sequences with Pickle Rick playing John McClane in an office building full of Russians are played in a gloriously over-the-top fashion even before they bring in a mysterious badass called The Jaguar. There is an element of anti-humor here, with the therapy sessions being played painfully straight so as to set up a big punchline at the end. At about the halfway point, however, this episode becomes a dramatically different beast. Pickle Rick takes its time building past its one-joke premise. This is saying something coming from a woman who humors coprophagiacs for a living. Meanwhile, Beth, Summer and Morty must contend with a therapist who is far too calm about the news that the absent Rick has turned himself into a pickle and is reluctant to take Beth’s assertions as to why their family is falling apart at face value.
RICK AND MORTY SEASON 2 EPISODE 3 REVIEW SERIES
A series of unfortunate events (and not the kind with a charming narrator and poorly disguised villains) puts Rick in the middle of a sewer and leads him into the middle of an action movie. Unfortunately, Rick’s current state quickly leads to him being in a pickle as well as being a pickle. Pickle Rick!Īnd it certainly wasn’t part of a convoluted scheme to get out of attending a counseling session with the rest of his family!

Bill, but it also fits the doomed persona of the character. Morty’s high pitch voice still reminds me of Mr.

Rick’s belching grumbling still kind of gets on my nerves but having acclimated to it. The first season, I had a lot of problems with the vocal work for the series. The season does end up being all about family and that is what makes the ending even more poignant (but you know that Rick must have some sort of plan). Summer is a more frequent character and the relationship of Beth and Jerry is often a point of contention. I also like that despite being called Rick and Morty that the season gets deeper into the family dynamic of the series. Poopybutthole who only brings happiness pay?
